Solved My HP printer/copier runs out of ink too fast

Specs: HP all in one, i76gb
My HP printer/copier runs out of ink too fast. I've heard that others also do and more. Isn't there a user friendly printer copier out there that won't take a arm and a leg to use. I've even heard that some printer/copiers won't let you replace just that ink that runs out and if you replace one you have to replace all.

In the print settings use "Draft" which uses less ink. I have an HP Printer/Copier and it uses 2 ink cartridges colour and black. When one is empty I only have to replace that one, not both.

You might also consider getting a laser printer/copier.

Some can print 2500+ pages before needing a new cartridge. Black and white only is fairly inexpensive. Color a bit more.

I went from inkjet to Laser. I was very disappointed in the Color laser MFC-9125cn print quality. I put up with it until the unit became totally dead.

I needed a multifunction printer with tabloid capability. I went back to ink from toner due to the prohibitive cost of wide format color laser printers, let alone multi-function units. I ended up with an Epson WF-7620. This machine is by far the BEST printer I have ever owned. This machine came with lots of software, prints, copies and scans 2 sided up to 13 x 19 and is both network and wireless capable. Also prints from mobile devices. I paid $200 and it came with starter cartridges that actually lasted for a couple of hundred pages.

Ink produces better graphics than color laser. The only downside is that you must print something at least once a week or the ink can gum up things.

I do not work for Epson or anyone, for that matter. My printer uses 4 separate cartridges. You can replace each as needed without throwing away unused color ink. I had a scanner years ago that came with Paperport 9. The Epson is even recognized by paperport. Also scans to PDF and has USB and memory card slots.

I normally don't rave about hardware but I am really impressed by this Epson. Installed seamlessly too. Have it working both USB and wireless.

Home laser printers are no cheaper to use than inkjets. You need to get into small office units before they become cheaper. As stated, black toner is pretty cheap. If all you need is black then look at Laser.

On another note. I have been providing tech support on this site for many years. What I have found about HP printers is this. They print OK but HP not only doesn't write drivers for new versions of Windows but they actually pull existing drivers off their website. Guess they want you to buy a new printer every 2 or 3 years.
