hi again.
My hard drive is supposed to be a 75GB. At least, it's what's wirtten on the label, and on IBM's website.
But somehow, my BIOS recognizes it as a 37.5GB.
37.5GB is quite enough for me, but it's quite frustrating.
I tried different BIOS settings, but it did not solve anything.
Could it be the HD itself? Could it be broken in such a way that only half of it is discarded?
Could it be the BIOS? my motherboard is not that old (I believe... QDI BrilliantX 9... or 7).
Should I try to reflash my BIOS?I'd be grateful to anyone who helps!
Thanks!!

Check the documentation on the drive. I purchased a new hd and had to change the jumpers in order for the full size to be recognized. The docs that came with it should have jumper diagrams and info on what to do in your case. if not, check the manufacturers website.
hope this helps.

Is it FAT32? I see that u run Windows XP, and i read a post by someone on here earlier saying that Windows XP has a 30-something GB limit when on FAT32. NTFS would be the option to use here.
Im not sure though.
Good luck!
Alex

Check your BIOS revision.
See if there is an updated one.
BIOS limits the size a board can handle. It MIGHT Be your problem. Also check out that XP thing the guy above said. Sounds probable too.
Stupid filesize limits.

if NTFS does not solve your problem then please download latest Service Pack for windows XP and installed this SP and detect you HD again! Insha-Allah your problem will be fix.
