If my DVD drives are recognized as SCSI will this screw up writes to the disk? For example making an ISO disk? (Note I got the following error from Free ISO Burner, Hardware Error 22683.)

If your optical drives have a SATA type inteface you MAY need to install SATA controller drivers. However, if your operating hard drive is also SATA and is functional then the likely cause of the error is that your burning program is simply not recognizing the burner drive.

You may be able to visit the software site and download an updated list of compatible drives. The drive may then work. with that software.
