my dell latitude D820 suddenly switched off completily

Specs: 32 bit. win vista, 2 gig
I plugged my Dell laptop D820 to the sucket, then I switched it on, the system start booting, after completing its booting, on my greatest surprise the system tripped off . And this can lead to lost of data . Please what is the cause of the problem ?

"...loss of data." This usually refers to files and especially newly created files that are open at the time.

Start it again and tap F8. This takes you to the advanced boot options window, if it stays on try choosing 'last known good configuration' and seeing what happens. If it did not stay on either your battery is dead and your power cord it bad (try first with power cord but with battery removed to rule out a shorted battery cell), or you have a hardware problem.

Whenever I switch it on, it will boot normal, but my worry is that it does not tell me whenever it want to switch off. I noticed resently that'' the fan always speed much randomly '' whenever I'm using it.
