My computer won't turn on

Hello, I am having problems with my laptop. The entire computer was reformatted yesterday and running like new. When I wok up this morning. I could not get it to turn on. The blue power button keeps blinking but no screen. I hold down the power button and still nothing. There is a blue light where the ac adapter plugs into it, and it is on, so it is being charged. Please help, I don't know what to do. I have to write a research paper in 3 days and really need my computer. Thank you

Remove the battery and see if it will work off the AC adapter.
