|Did you leave your computer plugged in & switched on for 2 weeks? Do you use a surge protector? Any idea if there was any type storm while you were away? The power supply would be the place to start. |
"The light on the motherboard lights up when connected to power so it is receiving power"
That only means it's receiving standby power. It doesn't mean the PSU is putting out +3.3v, +5v, or +12v power or putting it out at the required amperages.
EDIT: if it's only 6 moinths old, you should be looking into warranty replacement rather than randomly switching out parts.
