Specs: Windows 8
My 1 month old gaming PC suddenly won't pick up my monitor or USB ( keyboard and mouse) won't even light up when I start it up. I have checked all my pins and everything is plugged in, any ideas?

What make and model?

It starts up OK - as in lights indicate power on and hard drive activity?

Does it get to the desktop?

"Anything" on the screen at all - even if only briefly?

Bearing in mind you say it's one month olde... Perhaps contact the vendor and ask for their input - possibly even a replacement unit. It's under warranty?

I might be stating the obvious but if you never ever see anything on the screen it is about certain to be a hardware fault. On that basis I wouldn't go too deep with your investigation or you might void the warranty. Definitely consider returning it.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

How 'suddenly'? Did anything happen to it or did you make any changes between the last time it worked OK and the first time it didn't?

It's probably not a video or USB problem. You hear fans and drives spin up and maybe see LEDs flashing and assume the computer is working and therefore it must be a video problem. That's possible but not likely. It's usually a motherboard or PSU failure.

But just in case, with the power cord removed, temporarily disconnect all the drives and remove any add-on cards. Disconnect any USB devices. Then see you get the normal posting or logo screen when you start it up.
