My custom built pc runs very hot.
Specs:
Mainboard :KN1 SLI
Chipset :nVidia nForce4
Processor :AMD Athlon 64 3500+ @ 2200 MHz
Physical Memory : 2048 MB (2 x 1024 DDR-SDRAM )
Video Card :Nvidia Corp GeForce 6800 XT
Hard Disk :WDC (80 GB)
DVD-Rom Drive :PLEXTOR DVDR PX-740A
Operating System :Microsoft Windows XP Professionnal 5.01.2600 Service Pack 2

when i boot up and go to the BIOS, my cpu is running at 41C. It rises to about 50C and idles there while still in the bios. After some gaming and others i return to bios and it reads around 60c. I have used programs such as SPeedFan and MOBOmoniter and PC wizard and all of them say its cooler than what it says in the bios. Anohter heat issue is my VC 6800xt. It idles at 51C if im lucky and after some intense gaming can get up to 88C. I have 5 80mm (i belive0 fans in my computer. one on top(exhaust) 2 on back(exhaust) on on front bottom(stock intake) and on the on the side panel intake because the CPU is intake and cant be switched w/o changing the screws. Please help.

Although I've seen lower temps, your system is far from being "very hot"...if anything, it's on the high side of normal

Hellz Yea!

If your ambient (room) temperature is pretty warm, the PC will have trouble staying cool.

Your CPU temps should be fine. I know that video cards get hot but I cat say I would be comfortable at 88*C. I dont really know the heat limits of a video card GPU but I really dont think any sort of hardware should be running at 88*C. If there is a PCI card directly below it move it down one slot if possible because it might be blocking air flow to it. Good Luck
