Hello. My computer just randomly shuts off. It dosn't "shut down" it just goes *click* (no sound the click is for effect) and it is off. This problem is very frustrating. I have had it in a repair shop twice and they cant figure it out (But i think they suck) I have replaced the MOBO and the powersupply. Can anyone help me? Thanks

The MOBO and the power supply are the only things that I have seen cause that. I would check the on/off switch next.

does this happed almost immediately or when you computer has been on for some time? do you have a monitoring program watching over your fans, voltage..etc? Shutting down is a computers protection against damage. it may be getting too hot, make sure you have good ventilation and cooling. I really dont know of anything else.

Next thing you know, you have money missing from your dresser and your daughters knocked up! Ive seen it a hundrend times.

Well I dont know much about voltages. But I have a program that watches the CPU and case temp and they are well within safe limits. The program records the tempatures but I wish it would also record the voltages in the same log. I have though about testing the switch but I wouldn't know hows to do that. Any suggestions? As i said i have replaced the power supply and the mobo, but if the power supply didn't have enough power could if cause this? Thanks

I have noticed that the computer only pops off when I am playing a video game. Do you think this points at my video card? Thanks

I have experienced that same sort of problem but with a laptop. It just shuts down while working and other times switches to battery power, runs the battery down and shuts off that way as well. I've done a lot of research on the matter but my most helpful comments came from the manfactures website as they are fixing the computer at no charge for the problem you mentioned above. The warranty was over 2yrs ago so they are very aware that they have this issue with this model.
