I have intel(r)pentium(r)4 2.26 GHz cpu ,what maximum capacity ram can i use?

Depends on the motherboard, list the board model number. 628MB is OK but u will need more for the system to perform well.
Install SP3 update.

go to and run there test it will tell you what kind of ram and how much you can add

32bit XP runs better with at least 1GB RAM than less to be sure, but probably not worth going over 2GB unless you use programs that use massive amounts of memory.
You can look up your maximum amount of memory based on your motherboard make and model (as requested, which you have not supplied) or as suggested above, go to and use their tester.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
