Specs: Windows XP
Hi all,

I need help with my computer problem. At times, I can start up and use. Other times, it just won't start. I don't know if it's a hardware problem (most likely it is), or some other problem. When I finally can boot up, at times it will just give me the BSOD or hang. If it helps, in front of my cpu there is a light, at times it just stays there n goes blank when i try starting up, while once in a while i can boot. sometimes there's no light at all, resulting in failure to boot up. Anyone can help? Thanks in advance! my psu fan is running btw. don't see motherboard capacitors dented if its of any help.

I like to add on that at times it just goes *poof* and it turns itself off after i accidentally softly bang the table. could it be a case of lose components/cables?

Your power supply is failing.

Unless you have a might try unplugging any unnecessary hard ware.... cd roms...second hard drive etc..
and see if it will boot up.....

What I am saying is reduce the power consumption and see if the power supply can then boot the system
