my computer cant detect my modem!

Specs: Windows xp, Intel Celeron D 320 (2.53 GHz) ; RAM installed: 256 MB
well i reinstalled my windows xp and i tried connecting my modem[it worked be4 the installing] and my computer doesnt seem to detect it please any solution? Thanks

A solution that doesn't involve a lot of guess work can only be provided with a lot more information. Is this a dial-up modem, broadband, Ethernet or USB.

A modem model number would answer all those questions.

You probably didn't install the driver. And if you didn't install that driver, it's possible that you didn't install the others...chipset, sound, video, network, etc.

What prompted you to reinstall XP in the 1st place?

You definitely need more RAM. At least double it to 512MB, 1GB would be better.

if you are using the dell cds, you have a 2nd cd labeled "dell resoure cd", or somthing like that. It contains all the drivers jam mentioned and, the modem, if it is the internal dialup modem that came with the computer.

im having troubles with it haha i put in the cd and now idk which drivers to install lol any help? im only a 16 year old kid who doesnt noe alot of stuff about computers =x
