My cd rom drive not detected

recently i have formated my h/d and now when i am botting from cdrom it says no such drive i tried all method from changing the ide cable and putting other cd rom but unsuccesful .when i am booting from cdrom a win2000 i am getting this error 1.FD System Type (00)..is this a mothernoard problem since my cd rom is getting detected during the booting but then this error comes

Need more details about your system setup.

In the meantime, are you sure the cables are connected properly to the hard drives and CD-ROM drive?

Are your BIOS settings correct so that your drive will be detected on whatever IDE channel it's installed on?

Is your motherboard fairly new (made after I think 1995)? I don't think older Pentium boards support booting from CD-ROM..
