Reply: (edit)Simple really, All you need is a cable to connect your cassette players "PHONES" jack to PCs "LINE IN" jack. And a program, I like Nero's Wave Editor, but you could use the Windows sound recorder or anything really. I takes a bit of experimenting to get the volume levels just right, but it’s worth it!

Reply: (edit)Yes, Symbios is correct. Don't know what kind of sound set up you have, but in my case (Audigy 2 soundcard) I have a recorder built in to the software. It allows me to record as an MP3 and to select whatever compression I want. The key to the whole thing is getting an external device to play through your computer. Once you accomplish that, its just a matter of recording that sound. Good luck

Reply: (edit)Musicmatch made this real simple in version 7 which I still use. They even included the wire you need in the box. I don't know what they are doing now but you can probably find the shareware version of 7 online. It was capable of encoding mp3s. As far as I know it was the only free version to enable mp3 encoding. Good luck. Jim
