Just to let you know, sometimes in BIOS, there is an option to boot from several sources. If one of those sources is "Cardbus NIC" or "Cardbus Ethernet" or "add in card" or something to that extent, Disable the option, OR move the option down the list so that it is AFTER Hard Disk in the boot Sequence. Example from Dell 2650 BIOS: 1. Floppy. 2. IDE CDROM. 3. Onboard NIC. 4. Hard Disk. 5. Cardbus NIC. If Cardbus nic appears AFTER Hard Disk, you are OK. If it appears BEFORE hard disk, there may be an issue. It does NOT necessarily matter if the card is an ethernet or wifi controller; the BIOS may still allocate memory to it during boot time, and cause it to reach a memory range that is inaccessible inside windows, then, windows will not load the driver, but will "see" a "memory device" and fail to load because of the improperly assigned memory. This may NOT fix EVERY issue, but it is something that may work for some, and worth a shot. If at first you don't succeed, call it "Version 1.0" |
