Hello, This is a very specific question that I just can't seem the answer to.
The P6N Diamond motherboard that I recently purchased comes with its own special sound drivers for the on-board sound card: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio. Now, this is no problem but I am suppose to apparently get something called the CMSS (according to creative forums) and I simply cannot find it. It is the Creative sound control panel. I have tried installing the drivers from creative site but it says that it does not detect hardware and when I look at the top corner, it says vista. I have double and triple checked and the drivers from creative.com that says it is for my card and for windows XP is for vista. I would like some help from people to activate the CMSS on my computer so I can enable surround sound!
Thanks.

That MBoard is an MS-7320
Below is a link to the home page and the driver page

I have installed the drivers from that website.
The problem is I do not have this CMSS control panel at all that is suppose to come with the drivers.

Didn't you get a CD with the MBoard? The utility should be on that CD. If you didn't get it then call MSI for a replacement. You may need to prove ownership.

It is suppose to come with the creative sound drivers I install.
I do not have the CD because I bought it open box.
If you are certain it is on that CD maybe I will get it.

I am assumming that if it isn't part of the download that it must be included on the CD. What is it anyway? Rereading your original post I am thinking this is something that is a part of Vista. You are downloading drivers for XP. Is the driver file the same one for XP & Vista?

This is an excerpt from the driver page at the MSI site.
"To enjoy better audio performance, please install the full drivers available on the driver CD".
XP/XP64 Ver: 5.10.0.33
Vista32/64 Ver: 5.10.0.19Looks like you need the CD.

Shoudn't the website drivers be the same as the ones from the CD? and I also checked the utilities page and didn't see any Creative sound control panel.

The MBoard manual, which you can DLoad, has an appendix A, B, C, D. A deals with setting up the sound. Not real clear if there is more on the CD or not.
However, B, C, D. All address issues concerning software you may not have. Below are two utilities that I believe are on the CD. They both look very useful. nTune deals with OClocking. Dual Core deals with Dual core processors.
