msi mboard, wd800 hdd, radeon 9800se 128mb ?

Specs: Windows XP
msi mboard neo-v px8, p4 2.4ghz cpu, bios unknown from msi live update but boots as megatrends and keeps comming up as {{64bit single}}, 1gb memory 2x 512mb sticks, changed hdd to seagete same problem and back again to hdd wd800. will only install px executive. 32 bit enabled from bios and a boot dynamic overlay tried on/off. does not see the seagate as a master it does see it as a slave on same cable ide. windows cannot update to sp2 cannot update to windows live. what can i do? i changed RAM and back again and used wincleaner. i have never overclocked this system. the big problem is = when i connect a USB it restarts in different configurations or reports a USB unknown device. do i need to flash bios and where do i get it as the MSI web site is a mess. also random internet connection problems cutting off. HELP plz.

If you get PXE on boot the boot order is wrong in the BIOS or there are no valid boot devices,
