I want to buy one of these mobo but i don't know wich one's the best. Don't talk about purchasing an other mobo than these two, cause my budget just fit with them. They're respectively 119$ and 127$ and my budget is limited to 130$.

Well I am little partial to the gigabyte because of the dual bios. Also its the easiest around for bios upgrades. I have a long reliable history with these boards and recommend to all my customers.

I have to say it Weever...you've picked two crackers here!
These are both fantastic boards and are both olamost identical specs give or take a few details (like the Gigabyte dual BIOS).

About a year go I used to buuy nothing but Gigabyte motherboards. I've gone through 4 generations of them from my old Pentium 120 in it's Socket 7 Gigabyte M/b, to my previous Athlon 1GHz and my Socket A GA-7DXR+.
But...I'm now an MSI fan!
I still use Gigabye in some of my private builds, but only buy MSI boards to maintain/repair systems at my work. They are fantastic!!

But the best I can say to you is if the MSI board is cheaper by a few $ go for that...you won't regret it!!!

I also notice that you are talking in $ and say that these two boards will cost you $119 and $127.

I'm in England UK and can get the MSI (one with the LAN) board for the equivalent of about $90 and the Gigabyte board for the equivalent of about $100. You guys are being conned!

Hi guys, thx for your reply. I've also owned both gigabyte and msi board and never had problem with them. I've found one review on the msi board that say it is unstable, but i have my doubt about that. For now i really don't know if i'm going with one of those kt400 board or try to find 30$ buck for an NForce2 board. Do u think the extra money worth to go for the NForce2 over the kt400 ? And do u think that the upcoming kt400a board will drop the price of the existing mobo and it's worth to wait ?

Umm...it's really up to yourself. The N-Force2 board is pretty similar in terms of techical performance. It operates at upto 333Mhz Front Side Bus, and supports the new PC3200 400Mhz DDR modules.

The N-Force graphics chip is the best integrated graphics solution around at the moment, but it's still no match for a Ge-Force 4 4200 or 4600!
So just don't get it and expect it to be the best gaming machine around. It'll be great...but won't be the best.

I'd say, if you can afford the extra $30, and can't afford a powerful seperate AGP card go for the N-Force.

I never wait on prices coming down. If I want it I get it. LOL

But yeah, the price of the KT400 will fall.

I forgot to say...if you do go for the N-Force2 board... get the MSI K7N2 (MS-6570)!
It is fantastic!

To Andrew : The fact is that i already have a radeon 8500le so i don't need the onboard video of the nforce2...The thing i would like to know is if it worth the 30$ more bucks for the Nforce2 when comparing the KT400, the two board in single DDR and without onboard video. For an exemple, what is the difference in performance between the gigabyte ga-7vx and the msi k7n2-L...
