Help!

I trying to overclock my AMD Athalon XP 1500+ on my MSI KT# Ultra MBoard by changing my CPU FSB from 100 to 166 MHz, now all I get is a black screen of death.. is there anyway to reset the BIOS to how it was before so at least I can get into my system?

Right now absolutly nothing comes up.

Is there a boot disk that can fix the problem, or possiboly jumper settings?

Thanks,
Vincent

Unplug the computer from the wall plug first. Take a flashlight and look on the motherboard for a jumper marked cmos reset. move the jumper to the other set of pins and wait for 30 seconds. Then put the jumper back on where it was to start with. plug in and boot up.
If that board doesn't have a jumper, then remove the cmos battery. Wait 30 seconds and put it back in. Just like it came out. Plug in the wall plug and boot up.
Now speaking of the problem that started all this, 100 to 166 is a BIG jump. You have to take OC'ing in little steps. Keep going till the system gets unstable or crashes and back up a few turns. That will be the top end of the speed you can go. Besides MSI has some overclocking software just for thier line of motherboards.

I may be crazy, but I'm not stupid...

on all the motherboards there is a battery, you can either remove the battery which will reset your bios settings to default or set the jumper right next to the battery, you will need to refer to your manual on how to do so.

Your 1500+ is supposed to be running at 133MHz anyway, not 100MHz. Jumping the FSB up to 166MHz was just WAY too much. You should raise it 3-5MHz at a time (if possible) & your RAM should be able to handle the speed increase as well.
