Ack... help... someone!!!

anyway, I've just recently built an MSI KM2M based system, the problem though:

The First: When starting after having cleared the BIOS/CMOS ALOT, I get a message saying there was/is a CMOS check sum error, and asks me to continue or go into setup

Second: If I don't clear the CMOS/BIOS on every startup, the Detecting primary IDE devices takes forever (if at all... at 5 minutes I figure its worth resetting BIOS)

Third: More of an additional info section: I've tried flashing the bios with the latest version of the BIOS from MSI's website... no luck, same prob...

Four... if no solution, Think I should RMA it?

Check your harddrive configuration. You boot drive should be sat as the Master on the primary IDE channel.

That is how the HDDs are set properly (and when they are detected, they are displayed properly)

In the BIOS you have selections for first, second, third boot devices. I would suggest that you set first boot device disabled, second boot device HDD0, third boot device CDrom. This is addition to what I suggested in the first post. To enter the BIOS you need to press the correct keystroke when the computer is first starting up. Usually that is the Delete key. You can see which key to use by watching the screens that display at startup. After you are in the BIOS the boot order screen is usually the second screen. Manuver with enter, esc, Pgup/pgdn, and arrow keys. After you make the appropriate changes escape and select exit and save.
