i have an mp3 player and wanted to know what the best FAT setting would be to use. im using FAT32 right now but would FAT 16 be better to use? its a curtis mp257 256mb. i heard somewhere that fat16 is better, but i dont know if that could damage the player or screw it up or something like that. anyway, i dont really care, i just wanted to know if theres a difference. thanks in advance.

With 256meg, FAT16 or FAT32 is fine. You won't notice any difference until you hit the 2 gig limit of FAT16. after that you will be forced to use FAT32.
