I'm thinking about bidding on an mp3 player(dell dj 30) that has this in the description:

This is a used but working Dell DJ 30 GB MP3 Player. It works perfectly but it does not hold a battery charge for long.

I currently have a battery that I could put into this mp3 player but was wondering if anything else could be causing the battery to not hold a charge. I'd like to know this because I'll just be wasting whatever money I bid on something that can't even hold a charge on a good battery.

The odds are that it doesn't hold a charge because it needs a new battery. However, it is 'possible' that the charging circuit is defective. It's a gamble.
