So you have a mouse that one day started scrolling sometimes without even touching it? when you tri to scroll down the scrollbar goes nuts/bananas/bazuka? I know...I had this issue and since 1997 (the oldest post i found :P ) nobody knew the solvind solution or to say something even close...all that replied to the scared self-scrolling mouse problem only said stupid things like software...software issues are a RARE problem... The problem is in the mouse!!! there is a infrared cell and a recever on the side of the scroll wheel. As the wheel turns the signal betwin these parts is cut and the recever sends a signal that the wheel turned. The crazy auto scroll appears when , most comon from a shock, one contact of wither the infrared cell or the recever gets loose...as you move the mouse it makes contact again and so the scroll goes bananas. Same issue i ecountered and finally i got the answer: soldering or welding (i don't know the term :D ) will fix it. PS: for newbies...you will need a screw driver and do not be scared to do it because if you won't try it you Will take it to the garbadge can :P : sometimes only if you bent the loose part will solve the problem :)
