yeah, whats with win 98, at least get red hat 7 or 8. it will have all the driverts tou need and more!!!

Im just kidding, but linux is a good alternative, try to use your win 98 cd for the drivers and if you can't use that, search for them on google

HOPEING TO UPGRADE VERY VERY SOON!!!!!

Horst - you should have answered fv1589's query asto which connector your mouse has.

You advise it is a basic serial mouse.

This suggests it is connected to one of the com ports, rather than a dedicated mouse port. If this is the case, it may be that a driver has to be loaded.

Good luck - Keep us posted.

Hi.
The mouse is connected to a serial port. Yes the driver is missing, that is why I would like to get in the Device Manager to scroll down to the mouse icon since I have no disk. Thank you for the responce. Horst

Horst - as you are using W98, have you tried loading a standard mouse dos driver using config.sys and autoexec.bat?

Use its test facilities under dos.

Depnding how w98 was installed, it may think it has a ps2 mouse and thus the serial one will not work.

Good luck - Keep us posted.
