MS Intellimouse.
Too often when I click on something it executes Enter twice. Once on the down stroke and once on the up stroke of the left mouse button.
For example...I have two IE browser windows open. I click on the X in the upper right hand corner to close out one window but it closes out the second window that is underneath it because of the second action of lifting my finger off of left click button.
I don't click it slowly or hold it down. Just a normal click of the left mouse button executes the two actions of the Enter command.
So, my stupid question...Just replacing the mouse the only resolve?
I am asking in hopes that someone out there has seen this and knows what to do to the mouse to fix it. I like the one I have (ergonomic) and am unable to find a replacement. I can find plenty of others unlike the one I have and enjoy. Thanks for reading,
Bryan

i just had a similar problem. my solution was to replace the mouse. you may be able to take yours apart and clean it.
what's the model number? maybe someone knows where to get one.
try

Cleaning may be the answer - open it up and see if a shot of contact/head cleaner into the micro switch helps at all. If not, the switch may be going bad - not much hope for that.
Tech Support: "I need you to boot the computer."
Customer: THUMP! Pause. "No, that didn't help."

Thank you for replying.
Intellimouse* 1.2A PS/2 Compatible
PN X04-72167
Listed Accessory ITE 78CJNothing noted that states "Model#".
I searched on Froogle and Yahoo Shopping but only find USB model X05-22937. I am using the PS/2.
On TigerDirect I found the same model and ordered it.
Thanks again,
Bryan
