My mouse will lag in games such as "Day of Defeat: Source, Counter-Strike: Source and so on. Its not my pc specs. Its not my internet connection, i've tried it on a Local area game. It seems to work fine for 3 seconds then when I hit the 4th second my mouse just freezy. It's a certain pattern to. Its not at random times. I've tried one other mouse, nothing. Im currently using a PS2 Optical mouse. It does NOT do it outside of First person shooter games and any games at all. Any help would be great. The only other mouse ive tried is a Wireless Microsoft optical mouse. Same thing

I've never heard of "mouse lag", more likely the game has a lag in receiving input. Is this lag only associated with the mouse or also with keyboard movement.
If it is only with the mouse I would suggest updating the mouse drivers OR uninstalling the mouse drivers completely. Windows has the necessary drivers to operate a mouse but will not add any additional functionality your mouse may have. But, it could be that added functionality that is causing the problem.
Other things to check for are any background processes that could be causing interference.

Yup, it sure sounds like your system is lagging, not the mouse. I would suspect something running in the background that is slowing your system down. Anti-virus programs are famous for that if the options are not set up right.
Do yourself a favor BACKUP!!!

Hi, I have quit using USB meece. They all seem to lag on at least two system. You move the mouse, the cursor stays and a second later jumps to the new location. Couldn't find a solution. Jim

It's not my system, I have no virus protection on right now. I have a very high end system and on a game like counter strike source. It's not an issue. My computer itself doesnt lag. I can still move around with my keyboard, the crosshair just sticks for half a second :/

Are you using the manufacturer's drivers for that mouse? Try uninstalling the manufacturer drivers and use the Windows default drivers. you can also try any updated drivers the manufacturer has.

Would you mind telling us all about your "high end system"? Maybe the specs? ;)
I have a USB Microsoft Optical mouse, it's cheap and has a red light and I can play DoD:S fine, I can even run F@H in the background.
I see you are using a PS/2 mouse, can you try to get a USB one? Or maybe one that isn't wireless? (wireless mice aren't a gamer's best friend ;) )
