Comment:

i just brought a wireless optical mouse, i dont know the brand because brought it on ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dl...

that was the item.

when i plug it in, the bottom light flashes instead of a still light and the cursur jumps everywhere even though i dont move the mouse at all, and it usually gets stuck in the top left of my screen. On another occasion, the mouse simply doesn't move at all no matter what i do, and sometimes, the clicking works. Thank you for any help i can get!

Get new batteries

Have you looked at the Mouse configuration on your system? Are you using a shiny mousepad? If so, change to a matte one or nothing at all.

Possibly, however that's exactly how my wireless mouse behaves when the batteries get low, and new ones restore its function
