Hello! I just bought an ASUS motherboard with an AMD Sempron 2ghz processor.

I installed everything according to the manual, but when I turn it on, the motherboard and processor starts ok but It does not boot (the screen does not even turn on..)

Any ideas? Regards!

Nico.-

"when I turn it on, the motherboard and processor starts ok but It does not boot"

Obviously it's not OK....

I always recommend benchtesting a board before installing it in a case, but since you've apparently installed it already, I suggest you remove ALL cards but video...disconnect all HDDs, optical drives & floppy...remove all RAM but one stick...unplug mouse & all USB devices...disconnect all case cooling fans.

This should leave you with the PSU, motherboard, CPU w/HSF, one stick RAM, video card, keyboard, & monitor. Double check that the RAM & video are fully seated in their slots, & check that your case wiring is correct. Now try to fire it up & see if you can access the BIOS

I read some threads and found that many had the same problem.. Maybe if I reset the CMOS it works but I don't know how to take the battery out hehe, I'll try something

Time to remove the motherboard and try it outside the case.
You might have installed a motherboard mounting stud where there was no hole in the motherboard.

I once had a motherboard that the clear CMOS jumper was set to reset from the factory and get this one of the first pages of the manual it says to move the jumper before installing....go figure only took about a day to figure out it pays to read the manual, this may or may not be the case for you however I am with ham30 try it out side the case, find something non conductive to place under the board before you power it up. Post back when you find the problem.....

Keep the old stuff running
