hello all. my friend is too busy to ask you so he asked me to find some info for him. he is purchasing a i7 quad cpu but he wants to know which motherboard to get. so if you have any good options for a decent i7 mobo that will be helpfull. nothing too expensive but reasonable. the memory obviously will be ddr3 ram he will be getting as well he is just stuck on looking for a good mobo. thanks in advance.

Best place to look is the online reviews.
I suspect the only difference would be the amount of ram, slots, video options and size. Basically nothing to do with speed but how he/she intends to use the system.
The core i7 smokes the current tests on all boards. The ddr3 is finally faster than rambus.

i see. well he wants it for gaming. he's just looking for info on a very decent mobo and price i'm hopeless when it comes to them.

You have no choice but to get a board based on the Intel X58 chipset, so all you have to do is find a board that has all the options he needs. I don't know what you consider to be "nothing too expensive", but you're not gonna find an X58 board for under $170....most cost considerably more.

thanks for the reply as always jam. i'll pass it on.
yeah he said thats a good review of the boards he's looking into. cheers
