Just a quick question.I want to upgrade the case on my computer, if i decide to take out the motherboard before buying the new case whats the best way to store it for the time being? I have the actual box for the motherboard but i no longer have the bag which it came in. I just want to be careful with it thats all...any ideas

the best was is in the anti static bag it came in and then back in the box, but if ya aint got it anymore dont worry. The main problem other than physical damage is static but if you handle it carefully and put it back in the box on the foam padding you will be ok. (carboard doesnt conduct) Just make sure you earth yourself by touching the metal of the case before handling the mb. store it somewhere clean and dry at room temperature and you should have no probs.

keep it on a safe shelf away from any pets or children and ground yourself on an unpainted piece of metal before touching it

Cardboard may not be conductive, but if my mind serves me right it will build a static charge which could be very harmful to the PCB. My apologies if I'm incorrect, but I would be concerned.

We can fix this, but you're gonna need a butter knife, a roll of duct tape, and a car battery
