Comment: Please can someone help. I have recently bought a gigabyte ga-7n400 pro 2 motherboard and installed all things correctly. The problem is the graphics card doesn't power up when computer is switched on. I have found out that the motherboard only takes 1.5v graphics cards. I have tried a g-force mx440 and an ati radeon 9250 8x agp. Both cards are working as i've tested them in my older machine. Does anyone know the problem. Is it that the cards are a higher voltage or what. How do you know what voltage cards are, non of them say. Also I have looked for anything within the case that might be shorting it but nothing! Please help.

Reply: (edit)when mobo makers say it needs 1.5v graphics cards they are saying that you can not use a graphics card below 4x AGP compatability. That is because old 2x AGP graphics cards need 3.3 volts. The graphics cards you have tried are definitely not 2x max and should be suitable. I do not understand why mobo makers can't spell it out a bit better. I had the same problem establishing what it really meant a couple of years ago when I bought a ASUS A7V8X which went on about 1.5volt cards only
