I got a dead computer from a relative. It is a white box. With the following:

Micronics mother board.
Motherboard Code: Micronics - M55HI+ & NS
BIOS Date & Version: Phoenix - Ver. 4.05/06-06-96
RAM=2-2x32EDO/Count = 640/15360 Cache = PB-512K Onboard
# Single ZIF socket 7 for Intel Pentium processor support for 90, 100, 120, 133, 150, 166, and 200MHz processors.
# Intel 430HX chipset, Intel PIIX 3, and SMC FDC37C93X

My relative was unable to tell me what happen to it except she turned attempted to it turn on and nothing happened.
When I plugged it and turned it on nothing happened just like her.
I proceed to checked all of the connection and cables and restart it still nothing.
Nothing turned on , fan harddrive nothing.

Ordered a new power supply for it.
Plugged in the new power supply.
The power supply stared up, I heard the harddrive unlock and that was it.
Nothing else happen.
No beeps, the monitor stayed dark.
I replace the cpu with a different one still nothing.
Pulled the harddrive and installed into another computer it is ok.
Same with cdrom.
Unable to check memory out old 72 Pin type.
So what do you think? Dead motherboard.? Time to get a new motherboard?
Anything else I should check?
I was hoping to give it to my granddaughter for Christmas.

When you looked at the board, did you notice a lot of dust in it? How about any tell-tell scorch marks (signature of lightning strike damage)? If all components worked elsewhere, it seems to me like it's indeed gone.

The interior of the machine was clean and there was no visible scorch marks.
Yes the componets that I could test were working.
Quess I start looking for a new motherboad.

Reseat CPU and RAM
Check all cables/replace them if necessary.

If that does not fix it, then the mobo is bad.
