Motherboard crash?

May 13, 2009 at 18:38:59
Specs: Windows Xp
So i tried to turn on my computer today and nothing came on my screen. All my lights and fans were working so i would guess its not the power supply. I also notice that it didn't beep when it first starts to boot up. How can i make sure that it was my motherboard that crash and nothing else? And would anything else cause the intial beep not to work besides the motherboard?

Un plug the machine and take out the ram (memory)
If no beeps then it is the board or the cpu

A power supply can be bad but still put out enough juice to spin a few fans or light a few LEDs, so don't rule it out as a possibility.

Ok so i unplugged the all of my ram and still did the same thing. Could it still be my power supply even though all of my hard drives and dvd burners are still working. i unplugged the power of my video card and my motherboard made a loud constant beep could this be a sign that my motherboard is still good? Do you still need one stick of ram to run bios or can u run it without any sticks plugged in? Another thing that i notice it looks like its not even getting to a point to where it boots up cause the leds on my ram don't turn on like when its running so could it be my cpu.
