motherboard connects to 4 monitors?

February 29, 2012 at 21:27:45
Specs: Windows 7

i saw this motherboard on new-egg
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...

it does have the D-Sub + DVI and HDMI. if i buy a video card then plug it in the board, i will be able to connect to 4 monitors?

I know you can buy a crossfire motherboard and have 2 video card or TripleHead2Go then you can connect it to 4 monitors but is there a cheaper way? i only use all monitors for trading and normal use. May get to play some games for 2 monitors the most. dont need it for high resolution just enough for 19 to 20 in monitors

any help would be great

Thanks in advance

You can get cheap video duplicators like this - but with that you're only mirroring the video signal to multiple monitors.

You'll need another video card if you want 4 monitors with independent content on each monitor.

MOOOOooove! OH and you're welcome!

"what are the D-Sub + DVI and HDMI on board for?"

The board itself does NOT have an integrated graphics chip. The graphics are integrated into the CPU. I'm not an Intel fan so I don't know if it's possible to run dual monitors off the integrated GPU or not.

When choosing a graphics card, make sure to check the specs. If you get an AMD card that supports Eyefinity, you may be able to connect 3 monitors to it. Make sure your power supply is capable of handling the load.

"dont need it for high resolution just enough for 19 to 20 in monitors"

Whatever the native resolution is for your monitor(s), that's the resolution you should be running.
