hi all,
i posted this message http://computing.net/hardware/wwwboard/forum/6565.html a few days back.i want some more details about it.how can i show the hardware guy that there are still bad sectors.Is there any utility for that.

You bet. Find out the manufacturer of your drive and download its diagnostic disk as it creates a self booting diskette.

For most, if not all, new drives there comprehensive tests that you can run outside of an operating system. There are some drawbacks to this though as some tests will erase your drive's data, so make sure that you backup the drive prior to running tests.

Scandisk is a pile of garbage.
