My monitor is unresponsive, acts as if it is not plugged into a computer, when i plug it into my new video card. I plugged it into the old integrated video card and the monitor works on that one. The drivers are installed for the new card and the computer recognizes that it is there and working properly, but when connecting the monitor to the new card nothing happens.

You need to go into your BIOS and turn off the on board video.
