Here is what my problem is:
When I hook up my desktop monitor to my laptop, I get a letterbox screen? Now given that my laptop is widescreen and the monitor is only 17" (or 19") should'nt it auto-configure the settings automatically? Do I need a docking station? Is it possible to use a laptop with an external monitor, close it and work off an external mouse, keyboard etc. Thanks for the patience and all your help.
