OS: Win NT
CPU/Ram: Pentium III (?) 64 RAM?
Comment:

Got a computer donated to church. I don't know what the processor is, nor the RAM, as we just got it and can't see anything on the monitor except the following error. When I try to turn it on I get the following error "Attention Signal Frequency is Out of Range. Change Signal Timing. 74.6 MHZ 70HZ"
The text is red and the rest of the screen is black. I can't
get to any menu, etc to make the display changes.

How do I 'override' this error so I can change the signal
timing? Oh, also, I'm a Macintosh user by nature, so response needs to be detailed as I'm less familar getting around on a Windows-based machine.

Thanks

It sounds like the resolution was set too high for the monitor. When you boot up the machine press F8 until it gives you a listing of options. use the arrow keys to select safe mode and then hit enter. Once you do this the resolution should default to 640x480. now right click on the desktop and select properties, then select the settings tab. Now goto the sreen size slider and slide until it says a resolution of 640x480. then secect ok and then reboot the machine. should take care of this problem. reply back on your success.

How do you solve this problem if you are using Windows NT with no safe mode?
