hello fine folks. heres a very simple question. i was wondering what is the ideal refresh rate for a monitor. ive heard the higher the better but can u go too high? anyways mines at 90 mhz right now, should i go higher?? tks in advance...

the only way you can go too high is if your monitor or video card cant handle it. Higher is better, incase you dont know. The refresh rate is the amount of time the sreen refreshes (every second i think) so the higher it is, the more it refreshes, which means less flicker, and less eye strain. 85Hz is seen as a reasonable refresh rate so to not damage your eyes and to increase time that u can sit in front of your computer, i have mine on 1280x1024@100Hz which is nice. find out your max and set it to that

Unless you have exceptional sensitivity to screen flicker, you are probably not going to see any "improvement" over 80 - 85 mhz with a CRT monitor. LCD monitors don't need to be set even that high -- mine runs steady as a rock and clear as crystal at a recommended 60 mhz.
