The monitor on this machine is wierd. For some reason the monitor has to be turned first before the p/c. Otherwise the system for some reason will not recognize the monitor, and will not operate.... Drivers are all current... I checked the manufactuer for possible drivers for the monitor..... None.. Optiquest Q41. Its not a big problem, it could be worse. Just wondering if anyone couls shed some light on this... Thanks.....

There is a BIOS option to halt on any device failure at startup. I didn't think it included the monitor, but may be.

To try changing this setting (it is safe to do so), enter the BIOS by pressing the Delete or F2 key as the pc starts up. Look in the standard settings for something like "Halt on: All" and change the value by using page up/page down or the enter key and page up/page down.

If the above doesn't work, look for a bios option that enables `fast' boot. If found, try disabling it.
