Hi..
I just bought a Compaq Presario Desktop with a FS7550 monitor. The monitor has speakers attached to the sides. The left side of the screen wavers in and out about 1/8th of an inch.(the display kind of compresses a little then returns to normal.)
I re-installed the driver and de-magnetized the screen per Compaq Tech. Support. I'm still having the same problem. Any ideas on how to fix this? Is my monitor bad? or???
Thanks in advance Bob

The speakers were designed to clip into the side of the monitor. They are JBL Platinum Series. I don't know if they are shielded or not.

did you try to remove them from the monitor and set them further aside from the monitor.
This rules out wether your monitor is bad or not.

Hi, that probably means your monitor has been damaged by one of the speakers. Im pretty sure that all speakers that are designed to clip on your monitor are magnetically sheilded, But sometimes if you have the volume up high enough you can still get interference from the speakers. Im not sure if you can get the screen fixed with that damage but.... I dont know a lot about monitors.

Hi BobR:
If you can try monitor (without speakers) on a different PC that will tell you if the monitor is bad. Another thing you can try is to move you PC setup to a different area (or try a different monitor) to see if problem goes away, might be some other outside interference causing problem.

Good luck,
Z

I returned the FS7550 and got an HP MX704(basically the same monitor, in my opinion).
This one has speakers also, although they are not attached. This monitor works fine so far(fingers crossed). Thanks for the replies. BobR
