I have a HP 55 15 inches Monitor (HP D8896) that worked just fine, but few days ago i started havin the following problems: The Monitor work wonderful in Windows, but when i get into a DOS screen it just shows a blank screen even if i get to the DOS prompt from windows. But when i turn back to windows, the Monitor displays again my desktop and everything. Also, the Monitor doesn't allow me to see neither the POST screen nor the BIOS setup. I've tested it with other video cards and the same thing happes. How could i solve this issue?. Please Help!!!!

Your screen may not be able to handle that low of a screen size or resolution.

also has it Always done this? or did it just start recently?

the monitor, worked just fine at the beginning, working in windows, and in DOS, with every resolution from 640x480 to 1024x768, then it started to fail. the screen does a clicking noise when it's adjusting the screen resolution and refresh rate, so i believe, that the screen can't adjust the refresh rate to the DOS refresh rate. Whe i'm in the DOS prompt, i just see a blank screen as i mentioned, and neither the screen controls nor the OSD menu works.

i just forget to tell, that the clicking noise is normal in the screen. i guess, that is the sound from some relays that adjust the resolution and the refresh rate.
