I would try a different monitor, first...or the monitor on a different computer.

It may be working to the extent that the computer thinks it's there and running but that doesn't mean that it is going to display anything.

This would confirm the status of the monitor.


You may also try disconnecting the monitor and see if you get more than 1 beep.

If the monitor works on another computer then you can rule the monitor out as the problem.

If it turns out that it is the monitor, check craigslist free section or look up a locale recyclers.
