I have an HP Pavilion V50 Monitor. Installed a new Graphics card in my pc. Installed the wrong drivers and the screen went blink. Now when I turn the Monitor on the power led next to the power button just blinks and makes a clicking sound. I popped the cover and Dont have a clue on where to start. Also tested on other machines. Contrast and brightness never went high or low enough to make the screen black. Any help would be nice.
Thanks For the Help!
Harry

bench techs use some instruments that can pinpoint problems right off the bat
this area is not for the amature
i have some experience with monitors and in the field we would probably a new controller board
i do not know what methods you can use to find the exact part you would need
without talking to a bench tech.or the manufacturer parts list for the monitor you have

Try booting to safe mode on the various computers while using that monitor. In safe mode only basic video drivers load. If the monitor doesn't work in safe mode then it must be bad. A monitor can be damaged if a video card attempts to force it to a refresh rate and maybe a resolution it can't handle, although it usually takes a while.

"I have an HP Pavilion V50 Monitor. Installed a new Graphics card in my pc. Installed the wrong drivers and the screen went blink"
Did the monitor work with the new card before you installed the wrong drivers?
Have you tried another monitor on that computer after this happened?
"I popped the cover and Dont have a clue on where to start."
Clear as mud.
On the monitor or on the computer?"Contrast and brightness never went high or low enough to make the screen black."
Clear as mud.
Are saying the monitor works on other computers?
