Hi I was wondering if it's okay to have a monitor sitting on top of a pc (lying horizontally of course, lol). I have a Dell Dimension 4300S. Just wondering if it could harm the system at all. Thanks.

Used to be done with desktop cases all the time but keep in mind that the yolk on a monitor is a big electro magnet and your HDs & floppy drive are magnetic media.

Normally the magnetic influence shouldn't go through the case of the computer.
With a plastic case that's another thing so better check if it's metal.

BTW:
A cd spinning vertically is not really ideal so I'm not sure if I'd do that with every drive!

well lets see, you have a card in the mb and i might not reach the other side, if a lot of weight is applied then it will reach the other side and it might be pushed into the mobo and cause some serious problems, my opinion, NO!! don't put the monitor on the case!!!
