Hi,
I have LG 700E CRT monitor and XFX 8600GT Graphics card. I have connected the monitor to Graphics card thro DVI to VGA Adapter. So far it worked good, but suddenly for the past 2 days, it stopped to display anything.
I connected the monitor as secondary to my friends laptop and it displayed well and showed the desktop of the laptop. When i connect only the adapter to VGA Pin, the monitor shows that "there is no signal".when i attach the monitor wire to the adapter, it stops displaying.
What could be the problem? the monitor or the Graphics card? how can I test that?
I have installed Windows XP RC last week. Will that cause some problem?

I take it you mean Windows XP SP3 RC2. If that is the case then there is one sure way of finding out and that is to remove SP3 and see if it makes a difference.
Have you tried plugging in a known good monitor. That will tell for sure but from your description is sounds very much like the graphics card. Then it could be the DVI to VGA Adapter that is at fault.
The only way to test these things without very expensive test equipment is by substitution.
Stuart

I agree with this but on top of it if you cant find a known problem with sp3 at microsoft's website then i would try uninstalling the drivers for the video and reseating the card
