I have a Samsung SynMaster 753DF CRT monitor. The picture just blacked out and the monitor makes clicking sounds repeatedly when powered on. What could have gone wrong? Before I lost picture entirely, I noticed little squiggly lines in the display and then they would go away. Everything would return to normal. But then one day, the whole picture flashed off and the clicking sounds began. Thanks.

P.S. I have determined it is not the video card. I have since hooked a TV up to the computer and can see the video fine.

Probably time to put that CRT out of its misery.

The clicking sound is probably arcing in a failed component on the monitor circuit board. If you were to remove the cover you may or may not be able to ID the failed part. After years of use those boards are often baked pretty good and it's hard to tell what's good and what's bad. As already mentioned it's probably best to junk it.
