My monitor's suddenly developed an issue. As of yesterday, everything on the screen has started to get squiggly and shaky. The only thing I can describe what it looks like is if you had an appliance right next to it. I've checked throughout the house for anything that is on that could cause it, but nothing is causing it. My present resolution is 1024 by 768. And for the past year, it's worked fine on that setting. If I adjust the resolution to a higher one, the problem lessens somewhat. If I change it to a lower one, it becomes much less apparant, but for the most part, is still there. Eventually, the problem usually comes to a stop.
Is my monitor on its way out, or is it just being affected by something like the summer heat?

Could be your video card too.
Sometimes, it helps to change the adapter settings from within your display properties. START > SETTINGS - COMTROL . DISPLAY. Go to adapter, and change the frequency. Nothing drastic though. With 1024 X 768 resolution, try the three most popular settings first.DEFAULT
OPTIMAL
75 Mhz.See if that won't help.
If not, then the card could be going bad, or the monitor itself. In that case, see if a buddy has a card that you can borrow for a few days, to determine if it is the card, or not.I say a few days, because some monitors with problems actually won't show the problems again if you change the video card, until that time has gooten used for awhile - say a few days perhaps, or a week.
Hey Intel, AMD rulez!
