Hello,
I have a Vibrant VL7E9PG monitor. Everything worked fine but today, when trying to adjust the brightness and contrast, I accidentally selected an option called "Auto tune". Since that very moment, the image area moved and now I cannot see the whole Windows screen even setting the horizontal and vertical positions to their maximum. Selecting "Auto tune" again repeats the same effect and I cannot restore the screen to its original appearance. Switching to other image resolutions (800 x 600, 1280 x 1024, ...) doesn't solve the problem either. The monitor "Restore factory settings" option changes nothing but brightness and contrast. Could you please help? Thanks in advance.

Power down your computer and remove the power cable from the monitor. Wait about 30 seconds and reboot. Post again with your results.

If that doesn't help then check the advanced video settings to see if the monitor is identified by model. If the monitor is an LCD display and came with a disk, install the drivers from the disk.

Hello and thanks for your advice. That's what I tried: first I powered it down and removed the power cable, with no results. Then I searched for a driver (the monitor came with no disks at all). Even though my monitor has the "Vibrant" brand, I looked at the back and I saw other reference model which leads to GVision KOGi monitors, both manufactured by Tatung. So I found a site (http://www.gvision-usa.com/faq.htm) where I got a hint about how to completely reset the monitor settings, following a so-called "Reset Eeprom" procedure. I did that. And, when I thought I was successful, I powered the computer on again. And I saw how, immediately after each image mode became active (640 x 480 during BIOS POST messages, 1024 x 768 when Windows logon appears on screen), the awful "Auto tune" was automatically triggered.

I tried with another computer and even with a TV set, resetting Eeprom after each attempt. Always the same result. When a new image mode was active (no matter you change resolution, vertical frequency, or color depth), the "Auto tune" became immediately active.

The "Auto tune" effects are two: first, the image goes off-center; second, the vertical position cannot be adjusted because instead of a 0-100 continuous scale it has only 0, 50 and 100 positions and thus I only can move the image by 2 pixels.

Anyone knows how "Auto tune" could be disabled? The Vibrant model reference is VL7E9PG-E03 and the second model reference (which links this device to KOGi monitors) is L7EH-TA.

Thanks again in advance.
