monitor has lost quality adjustment

i swapped out hard drives on my computer. everything worked including the monitor, but i could not adjust the quality of the images. the slide would not slide, so i am stuck at the lowest setting

You need to install the Video drivers. Download and run a freeware utility called Everest Home Edition. This will tell you what video display is in your computer. Then find the correct driver for that display and the version of windows you are using. Find Everest here: http://www.lavalys.com/products/overview.php?pid=1&lang=en
